RECYCLERAMA Saturday, April 7, 2018 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Bailey Park. This is a FREE recycling event for Calhoun County residents! Use Wagner Dr. Entrance (west bound Emmett St. only). Here are some of the items they will take. See the full list on the bulletin board in the Narthex. Clean polystyrene (Styrofoam#6)Styrofoam Cups, Plates, Meat Trays, Egg Cartons, Coolers, and #6 Packaging Material. NO Packing Peanuts or Construction Styrofoam. Eyeglasses, Appliances and Steel (Freon removal available on-site), Electronics, Cables/Cords, Cellphones, Copiers, Computers, Laptops, Household Hazardous Waste (NO latex paint), Aerosol Cans, Fire Extinguishers, Household Batteries, Paint Thinner, Turpentine, Small Propane Cylinders, Items Containing Mercury, Oil and Lead Based Paint, Tube and CFL Light Bulbs, Pesticides/Herbicides Cleaners/Caustics/Solvents.

WORSHIP ASSISTANTS FOR HOLY WEEK – A Lector Reader is still needed for the 11:00a service on Easter Sunday. Please let the church office know if you would like to serve.

THRIVENT MEMBERS/ASSOCIATES - If you are a Thrivent member, associate, or have any financial products through Thrivent please share that with Linn Kracht, St. Peter's congregational advocate. This may allow St. Peter to apply for Team Active mini grants. If you have questions please contact him. Thanks.

COMMUNION ASSISTANTS: Property Committee has installed a seven gallon hot water tank in the Sacristy for the washing of communion cups. This should ease the burden of washing the glass communion cups.

YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED to Post-Franklin Elementary school on March 29th, 9:30 a.m., to read to small groups of sweet/smiling faces! Bring your favorite children's book or choose a book available at the school to read to Pre-K through 2nd grade students. Lunch will be served for all of our special guest readers!

HEALING SERVICE AND LIFE LINE SCREENING - Friday, April 13 will be a busy day at St. Peter with a healing worship service, open to the community, at 11:30 a.m. The folks from Life Line Screening will also be here to offer vascular screening, also open to the community by appointment. Life Line has generously offered one complimentary screening for a St. Peter member; if you would like to utilize this offer you are welcome to take the certificate from the hallway bulletin board. Please note that an appointment is required.

HEARING ON DRAFT SOCIAL STATEMENT ON WOMEN AND JUSTICE - The ELCA is developing a new social statement on Women and Justice. There will be a hearing on the draft social statement on Women and Justice held at St. Peter on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. RSVP is not required but welcomed. Contact Linn Kracht to RSVP or if you have questions. You are encouraged to read the draft before the hearing. SAVE THE DATE for the 37th Annual Community Prayer Breakfast to be held on Tuesday, May 1, at 7:25 a.m. Guest speaker is Rev. Charles Howard, Author and Chaplain at the University of Pennsylvania. Tickets are $15 and can be purchases at the Battle Creek Community Foundation, by calling (269) 969-2120 or online at www.bccfoundation.org/prayerbreakfast2018.

FOOD BANK CHALLENGE - During March and April, all donations designated to the Lakeview Food Pantry site will receive a 10% bonus in their Food Bank Account. You can mail a check to FBSCM, 5451 Wayne Rd, PO Box 408, Battle Creek, 49016, or make a secure donation online at www.foodbankofscm.org. Please be sure to designate the Lakeview Food Pantry and help eliminate food insecurity in our community.

FIGHT HUNGER-GIVE HOPE - The PS Food Mart at Helmer Rd and I94 is asking for your help to raise funds for the Food Bank, food pantries and school weekend backpack programs. Tear a square and designate $1 or $5 for these causes.
