HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION will take place on Saturday, June 24 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm in the Toeller Building parking lot, 190 E. Michigan Ave. Items accepted: Old gasoline, kerosene, fuel oil, (must be in approved container), brake fluid, pesticides, old prescriptions, anti-freeze, solvents, cleaners, stain and oil based paint, acids, pool chemicals, aerosol cans, household batteries( includes button batteries), mercury, fluorescent light bulbs, CFL bulbs, sharps sealed in a coffee can or laundry detergent bottle.  NO LATEX PAINT.

SPEK SPEAKS  -  Try to reduce your waste. If you're an average American, you produce 4.4. pounds of trash every single day. In a nation of nearly 324 million people, that amounts to more than 700,000 tons of garbage produced every day—enough to fill around 60,000 garbage trucks. That is a shocking amount of waste.

KIDS CLASSROOM KITS - If you know a teacher, then you know that many of them spend from their own pocket to buy certain items for their classroom. The Outreach Committee, with your support, hope to furnish some of these items for them. Following is a list of the items that we would ask you to consider to bring throughout the month of July. Watch for the sales!!! The items are: package of #2 pencils, Crayola crayons (box of 8 or 10), cap erasers, Clorox wipes in tubes, glue sticks, boxed tissues, and small pencil sharpeners. There will be baskets in the narthex with a sample of each item and where the items can be put. If you have any questions please contact an Outreach member. Say thank you to the teachers you know, especially at St. Peter.

THE OUTREACH COMMITTEE is planning a "Fill the Bag" project to help the Lakeview Food Pantry right before the school year begins; paper bags from Horrock's Market are perfect for this use.  If you shop at Horrock's, please as for an extra bag or two and bring them to St. Peter.  We are hoping to have enough bags by August for each St. Peter family to fill one bag.

SUMMER HOSPITALITY - During the summer months with everyone's fluctuating schedules coffee hour is not assigned. To that end, we are once again looking for people/families to provide hospitality during the summer months. The openings are: the entire months of August and September. Please sign up at the Hospitality table or email Debbie Duggan. Thank you!

RECOVERY HOUSE LAWN ITEMS - The Recovery House has need of the items listed: Lawn Rakes (2), Garden Rakes (2), Wheelbarrow, Spade Shovel (2), Large Push Broom, Garden Hose, Square Shovel (2), Lowe's or Menards Gift Cards, Green House Gift Cards. If you have one of these items and want to donate to them please contact Linn Kracht. Thanks.
