Weekly Anouncements

ALTAR FLOWERS - The flowers on the altar this week are given by Mark and Melinda Lahn, to the glory of God.

SPEK SPEAKS - Have you ever had a power outage and reached for the flashlight to find that the batteries are dead? Most stores carry crank flashlights that don't require batteries. 60 seconds of cranking will get you 30-60 minutes of power depending on the device.

INSTALLATION SERVICE: The service installing Pastor Jennifer Michael as St. Peter pastor is taking shape! Sunday, August 27 begins with 9:30 a.m. worship (Chicago Folk Service); the Installation service takes place at 3:00 p.m., with a reception immediately following. The Congregational Life committee is asking members to bring a dessert to pass; see the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the narthex. Have a special sweet treat you'd like to share that afternoon? Be sure to sign up!

SAVE THE DATE - Put Sunday, October 29 at 2 p.m. on your calendars and join the Kambly Krew at Kambly Living Center on Sunday, October 29. We will be doing Fall activities with the residents, but we need items for bingo. If you find appropriate items for bingo prizes while doing your summer cleaning and would like to donate them, please contact Jackie Luke (965-2514) or any other Outreach Committee member.

GOD'S WORK OUR HANDS - The ELCA encourages all congregations to participate in the 'God's Work Our Hands' Sunday, on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017. The focus is for congregations to plan service type projects that are beneficial to their community. For the last couple of years St. Peter and Trinity have joined forces and participated in several activities. The Outreach Committee is seeking your help this year. If you have a project/activity that you think might be good for the congregation to do please talk to an Outreach committee member about it. We are seeking projects. Please contact Linn Kracht with questions.

LWR QUILT GROUP - The LWR quilt group meets each Wednesday from 10 a.m.—2 p.m. Bring your own lunch. We need people to iron, cut, pin, and tie knots. We continue to need sheets—flats preferred but will take fitted. We're hoping our attendance will increase. If you have any questions, please see Lucille Dubay, Beth Wiita, or Jan Ludwig.
