PASTOR MICHAEL ANTON is offering a two-week course titled "History & Evolution of the Bible" through KCC's Lifelong Learning program. The class will meet Tuesday November 5 and Tuesday November 12 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm in room 304 of the Lane-Thomas Building on KCC's campus. You can register on-line or by phone (269) 965-4134. Fee: $35 for members and $50.00 for non-members of Lifelong Learning.

'Spiritual Pathways: A Method for Growth' - This Sunday our Adult Sunday Forum begins with a special guest. Ron Adams, a good friend of St. Peter and regular at Monday Meditation and the Thursday morning discussion group will be leading the class on 'Spiritual Pathways: A Method for Growth.' This class has been very well received at Willard Library and he has graciously agreed to come to St. Peter to share it with us. Learn about what you can do to help to grow your faith and spirituality. Ron will return on October 6, 2019 to lead the continued discussion on the topic. In the interim (Sunday, September 29), the class will be discussing other topics on what they will be conducting going forward. Please join us at 11 a.m. for this class and help us welcome Ron to St. Peter!

SERVICE OF HEALING IN 2019/2020 – The rite of healing has long been a practice in the Lutheran Church. It recognizes that every human person stands in need of healing in some dimension of life, not just those suffering from a specific injury or illness. So, the Worship Committee has agreed to provide a service of healing in the midst of Sunday worship on the 5th Sunday in September, December, March, May and August. We hope that you will appreciate this addition to our worship service as we embrace the ministry of healing as an important way of bringing the loving care of God to all people in their need.

RECONCILING IN CHRIST (RIC) TEAM UPDATE – As mentioned in the Annual Report, the RIC Team has been conducting one-to-one conversations with members to help the congregation determine where we are on the "welcoming spectrum" when it comes to being inclusive of all, especially members of the LGBTQ+ community. The team is nearing completion of those one-to-one conversations, so if you haven't yet been contacted by a team member, you should expect to be sometime in the next few weeks. With those conversations very near completion, the next step in the process will be to hold group meetings to allow folks to ask questions and interact with one another on the topic.

On Sunday, October 13th during the Sunday school hour, we welcome Diane Madej from our synod and Merton Spencer, Region 6 Reconciling Works Coordinator for a conversation on what it means to be "welcoming" as well as other topics related. Everyone is invited to engage in this conversation as we continue to be deliberate and intentional in determining whether our congregation is truly ready to be fully inclusive, or if we are welcoming but not at a point where, collectively, we feel truly inclusive of all. If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to see one of our RIC Core Team (Nancy Wozniak, Dave Marquette, Barb Egland, Barb Remaley or Ken Tsuchiyama). Everyone's input is vital to this conversation.

ATTENTION ST. PETER MAKERS AND CRAFTERS - We are in need of items for our Annual Bavariafest Silent Auction! Please see Bruce Hagadorn for more details.

SPEK SPEAKS -We are involved with a program sponsored by Colgate where you can recycle used toothbrushes and packaging, used toothpaste tubes with caps, toothpaste cardboard cartons, and used floss containers. These can be any brand, not just Colgate. There is a container labeled in the Luther Room for collection. Please make sure the toothpaste tube is squeezed empty.

CROP Hunger Walk -When you walk in the CROP Hunger Walk, you are raising money to help fight hunger but you are also walking in solidarity with all of those people around the world who are walking for food, for water, and for firewood each day. Only one week left to sign up to be a walker or to be a sponsor! The CROP Hunger Walk isn't about Church World Services fighting hunger-it's truly about us all fighting hunger in many ways throughout the world. Come walk with us or be a sponsor!

TIME TO GET IN THE BAVARIAFEST MOOD! October 5th is just around the corner and should be on everyone's mind. Promote and pass the news ... Sell tickets! We need everyone to be on board, this is a St Peter Congregation Fund Raiser and it will be BIG. We need every one to be aware, to be actively involved and to be getting the news out in the community. Be sure to spread the news of the ALL DAY Market Fest, the afternoon Silent Auction, Blessing of the Animals and dinner with music on into the night. There will be Games and a Bake Sale. Everything to make a memorable day. Remember, this will be the best place to purchase Mums and Pumpkins.

STORAGE CLOSET CONTENTS – This past week, some of our Property Committee cleaned out parts of the storage closet near the Fellowship Hall. Many items in the closet are no longer used during worship or other times of the year. So, these miscellaneous items have been placed in the Fellowship Hall and everyone is encouraged to take what they would like. After the end of this month, the remaining items will either be donated or thrown away. If you have any questions, please contact Dave Marquette or other members of the Property Committee.

HISTORIAN/ARCHIVIST INTEREST – In addition to the items found in the storage closet, a few boxes full of photos and other memories were uncovered. It would be great for our church family history to be chronicled in a way that everyone could enjoy instead of being secreted away in boxes. If you are interested in being part of this team, please contact Pr. Jennifer.
