Community wide The Haven of Battle Creek has asked local churches to participate in The Haven Sunday on February 17th. The Haven is a critical and special Christian organization in our community that reaches out to “the least of these” sheltering homeless men, women, and children as well as other ministries. Their mission is: “To proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ so that all may experience God’s love. Clothe, feed, and shelter the homeless in the name of Christ. Disciple individuals to become spiritually, physically, and emotionally functional, and able to live optimally within God’s kingdom and the community.” The Church Council unanimously approved The Haven’s request for us to participate in this community-wide initiative. Separate giving envelopes will be available for all that choose to give to The Haven on this special Sunday the 17th. During the services we will also learn a bit more about the Haven’s ministry.
