The North/West Lower Michigan Synod Hunger Team would like to invite you to a one day seminar on Saturday, September 28 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mount Pleasant. The title of the Seminar is “That All Will Be Heard. Action Through Advocacy.” The seminar will encourage lay people, pastors and congregations to be advocates for the poor, and will highlight the importance of advocacy and our role as Christians. Participants will learn how to be an effective advocate, both locally and nationally, on issues that relate to the poor and hungry. Pat Hartig of Lutheran Social Services of Michigan will be the keynote speaker, and Bishop Elect Rev. Craig Satterlee will lead the closing worship. There is detailed information, including a registration form, on the Synod website: www.mittensynod.org, click on News & Events. The registration fee of $20 includes lunch. The registration deadline is September 18. Questions may be directed to Pr. Erick Johnson or Judy Enger.
You are welcome to forward this invitation to anyone who you think might be interested in our Seminar. We hope that you and/or members of your congregation will be able to attend our Seminar.
